Product Introduction
WOODWARD 5501-467 C Micronet Simplex MicroNet™ is an industrial-grade power module produced for digital control systems. It is used to provide stable and reliable DC power for the microprocessors and other control units within the control cabinet. In the MicroNet Simplex control system, the 5501-467 module is responsible for the main DC power supply task, providing a 5 VDC operating voltage to the system, and driving the host processor, input/output modules, and software logic control units, etc.

Product Details
Unlike ordinary low-voltage DC power supply boards, 5501-467 supports high-voltage input of 220 VAC and 220 VDC. It can directly supply power in the control cabinet and the high-voltage DC system, without the need for an external transformer.
5501-467 is designed for industrial sites and has the following environmental adaptation indicators:
The working temperature range is suitable for the standard industrial temperature within the control cabinet.
Supports operation at high altitudes (up to 4000 meters);
The noise level after the module chassis is installed is below 70 dBA, making it suitable for electrical control rooms.
Power Board Specifications:
Input Voltage: 220 VAC/VDC
Operating Range: 180-264 VAC (47-63 Hz)
Maximum Output Current (5 VDC): 22.0 A @ 65°C, 28 A @ 60°C, 32 A @ 55°C
High Voltage DC for Main PS Simplex: 7 ms @ 225 VDC
Regulator Module Specifications:
Control Type: PID Control
Input Signal Type: Analog
Output Signal Type: Analog
Operating Voltage: 24 VDC
Operating Temperature: -40°C to +85°C
Protection Rating: IP65
5501-467 provides clear LED indications for judging the power status. The front panel of the module is usually equipped with four LED indicators:
| LED lamp | Explanation |
| OK | Power output is normal. |
| Input Fault | Input power supply abnormality (voltage is out of range or external power failure) |
| Power Supply Fault | Internal conversion failed. All or multiple power units have been shut down. |
| Overtemperature Fault | The module temperature has exceeded the safety threshold (it is necessary to check the cooling system or the ambient temperature) |
The indicator lights help factory technicians make judgments regarding the use of the modules. When a "Power Supply Fault" occurs, it is recommended to first check for wiring short circuits or abnormal loads; if the external short circuit is removed but the problem persists, then the module needs to be replaced.
In a typical installation:
✔ After power-on, 5501-467 performs self-check and outputs 5 V DC
✔ CPU initialization, reads configuration logic
✔ I/O module initiates self-check and establishes synchronization with CPU
✔ Speed input and sensing signals start real-time collection
✔ CPU processes control logic and makes output decisions
✔ Communication module pushes data to external systems or monitoring terminals
Throughout the entire process, Power does not participate in the data logic. However, if the power supply is interrupted, the system logic will lose its power foundation. Therefore, a spare parts strategy and preventive maintenance are usually required.
5501-467 is commonly used in the following scenarios
1.Steam/Gas Turbine Control System
In large power plants or industrial drive systems, the MicroNet Simplex controller is responsible for speed and load control, while 5501-467 provides the power supply for the mainboard.
2.Industrial automation control cabinet
In the automatic control systems of industries such as chemical engineering, petroleum, natural gas, and papermaking, a stable power supply is provided for PLC/DCS and other control modules.
WOODWARD 5501‑467 and MicroNet System
501-467 is the main power supply board (Power Supply Board) in the MicroNet Simplex system, which is used to convert the external high-voltage alternating/direct current (typically 220 VAC or 220 VDC) into the 5 VDC power supply required by the system.
The output power of 5501-467 is shared by the back panel to:
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
Various input/output modules (I/O)
Communication or auxiliary expansion module
Other control devices
The main module types include:
| Module type | Function Description |
| Power module | 5501‑467, used for powering the entire controller suite |
| CPU module | Execute control logic, such as MicroNet Plus CPU or 5200 CPU |
| I/O module | Input/output signal acquisition and driving, such as discrete I/O, analog I/O, etc. |
| Communication module | Supports serial, Ethernet, and other external communications |
| Auxiliary module | Speed sensing, RTD/TC, field terminal/terminal block, etc., expansion components |
