Advant Controller 31 Analog Input/Output Module GJR5252300R3101 07AC91
AC31 is an early PLC/DCS hybrid control system launched by ABB:
Supports centralized and distributed control
Based on CS31 bus communication
Complies with IEC 61131-3 programming standard
Extensible remote I/O
07AC91(GJR5252300R3101), as a remote I/O module in the AC31 system, communicates with the controller via the CS31 bus and supports multi-channel analog signal processing. It can meet the requirements for collecting and outputting various industrial standard signal types, such as voltage and current.

Overview of the Analog Channel
GJR5252300R3101 07AC91 Compatibility:
AC31 series PLC (40/50/90 series)
Distributed expansion system
Multiple industrial communication protocols
07AC91 supports two working modes:
Mode 1:
8 analog inputs + 8 analog outputs
Resolution: 12-bit
Mode 2:
16 channels (can be configured as input or output in pairs)
Resolution: 8-bit

The analog input/output module 07 AC 91 is used as a remote module on the CS31 system bus. It contains 16 analog input/output channels that can be configured in two operating modes:
• Operating mode "12 bits": 8 input channels, individually configurable ±10 V or 0...20 mA, 12 bit resolution plus 8 output channels, individually configurable ±10 V or 0...20 mA, 12 bit resolution
• Operating mode "8 bits": 16 channels, configurable in pairs as inputs or outputs, 0...10 V,0...20 mA, 8-bit resolution
• The configuration is set with DIL switches.
• The PLC offers an interconnection element ANAI4_20 for measuring signals of 4...20 mA (refer to 907 PC 331, connection element library).
Operation of the AC31 Analog Module
✔ Installation method
DIN rail installation (standard 35mm)
Fixed inside the control cabinet
✔ Wiring structure
The module has three types of connections:
Power supply: 24VDC power supply
CS31 bus: Connects to PLC (AC31 controller)
Field signals:
Input: Sensors
Output: Actuators
Set the DIP switch: 07AC91. All functions are configured through DIP switches (hardware jumpers)
-- Select the working mode
-- Set input type
-- Set module address
Connecting the wires
--Simulation input (AI) wiring
--Analog Output (AO) wiring
Identifying the module in the PLC
The front panel of the module has:
Green LED (Channel/Status)
Red LED (Fault)
Common data errors during use
Q: After installing the module, the CPU is unable to recognize it, or the module does not respond.
A: Module address is set incorrectly
The configuration of the DIP switch is incorrect.
The bus is not properly connected, or the termination resistor is missing.
Q: The analog quantities read by the PLC fluctuate greatly, deviate from the actual values, or often show abnormal readings.
A: Signal line interference
The sensor's current/voltage range does not match.
Q: When the module red light is on, or the LED is flashing, the PLC detects an error.
A: Measurement exceeds the set limit
Internal communication error or CS31 bus error
Q: The module occasionally loses connection, has unstable communication, or reports a bus error from the PLC.
A: The CS31 bus exceeds the permitted length, resulting in data loss.
Electromagnetic interference or loose connections caused the communication to be interrupted.
