WOODWARD 8290-195 Speed Controller

The 8290-195 is a steam turbine digital governor rated Class 1, Div.

Designed for use with three-phase AC generators equipped with WOODWARD or other compatible speed controls and automatic voltage regulators.

The 8290-195 synchronizer provides automatic matching of frequency, phase, and voltage using analog or discrete output bias signals.

8290-195 uses 24 Vdc power input.

Features:

Set speed or load for diesel or gas engines.

Provides load sharing and speed control for diesel or gas engine driven generators.

Supports engine/generator or pump applications with multiple dynamics, manifold air pressure (MAP) limiter, torque limiter, low speed sensing function, remote speed and load reference, soft load transfer, automatic idle to rated switching, load rejection/load pulse option, idle speed reduction function.

Optional Modbus® serial communication, adaptive speed sensing algorithm, two serial ports, data logging capability.

Built-in redundant Ethernet communication port.

The 8290-195 electric speed governor is part of a complete control system consisting of three components: electronic speed control, electric actuator and magnetic pickup. Users can order accessories such as electric actuator and magnetic pickup separately according to specific needs. The electric actuator has different models and working outputs to choose from, such as 512 type, 30° stroke, 0.7J (0.5ft-lb); 712 type, 35° stroke, 1.6J (1.2ft-lb), etc. All actuator output shafts have 0.375 inches - 36 SAE saw teeth on both ends.
This product does not require mechanical drive or hydraulic supply, supports load sharing accessories, has dual power switch selection function, and can also choose whether to have start fuel limit and exhaust control functions according to needs. It complies with relevant standards such as EU directives, UL/CUL, etc.
