Product Introduction
The IC693CPU331 is a modular CPU that consists of the CPU body, a memory chip, an integrated circuit chip soldered onto a circuit board, and a backplane. Since IC693CPU331 is a plug-in module, it can be directly inserted into the backplane. The user must always install the CPU module into slot 1 of the base plate. The modular CPU supports remote backplane and expansion functions. The scanning rate per 1K logic (or Boolean contact) of this CPU model is typically 0.4 milliseconds.

IC693CPU331Y Detailed information on key products
Processing performance
Processor: Based on a 486-level processor, it was a high-performance configuration among PLCS at that time.
Memory
User logic memory: 64K bytes (for relay logic, register operations, etc.).
Data register memory: 128K bytes (for variables, timer/counter values, analog data, etc.). The large-capacity data memory enables it to handle a large amount of analog I/O and complex computations.
Execution speed: 0.4 ms/K Boolean instructions, which is relatively fast and can meet the requirements of applications with high real-time performance.
I/O and scalability
Local I/O support: Up to 7 local I/O modules are supported (directly connected to the CPU rack via the backplane bus).
Expansion rack support: Up to 2 remote expansion racks can be connected through the expansion receiver module (IC693BEM331/BEM332) and the expansion cable.
Maximum I/O points: The entire system (local + extended) can support up to approximately 512 digital I/O points or a mixed configuration of analog and special function modules of corresponding capacity.
Built-in interface
Serial Port 1 (RS-485): It is typically used to connect programming devices (using SNP or SNPX protocols) or as a master/slave station for network communication.
Serial Port 2 (RS-232/RS-485 optional) is configured via the DIP switch on the module. It is often used to connect human-machine interfaces, barcode readers, frequency converters or other third-party devices (supporting Modbus RTU master/slave protocol, GE SRTP protocol, etc.).
Communication and network functions
Genius Bus support: This is one of its core and powerful functions. The CPU can serve as a Genius bus controller and be connected to the Genius local area network via a Genius communication module (such as IC693BEM331 in conjunction with a CMM module).
It can manage up to 32 Genius bus devices (such as remote I/O hubs, drivers, sensors, etc.).
Support the Dua al-redundant Genius bus to enhance reliability.
Ethernet support: It needs to be achieved by inserting an independent Ethernet interface module (such as IC693EBM001) into the backplane. The CPU itself does not integrate an Ethernet port.
IC693CPU331Y Product features
High-performance processing capability
Dual-memory architecture: Logic and data memory are separated to ensure stable program operation and handle complex algorithms and large amounts of data.
Fast scanning cycle: Meets real-time control requirements and is suitable for high-speed production lines and precise process control.

Genius Distributed I/O: Supports a complete distributed control system architecture

The IC693CPU331 is a single-slot CPU module. A system can support up to five backboards at most, including one CPU backboard and four remote expansion backboards. This CPU requires a power supply of 350 milliamperes of current, and the power supply voltage should be +5V DC. The IC693CPU331 processor has a main frequency of 10 MHZ and uses the 80188 processor. The ambient operating temperature range is from 0°C to 60°C (32°F to 140°F).
The IC693CPU331 supports multiple communication modes, including LAN and Ethernet, which support multi-point connections. This module also supports other communication modules, such as FIP, GBC, GCM and GCM+. The IC693CPU331 also supports some functions, such as manual control and a battery-powered clock. However, interrupts are not supported at present. The supported memory types include RAM and EEPROM or EPROM (optional). It is also compatible with PCM/CCM.
