Get to Know the Product
Emerson A6210 is a module used for industrial equipment condition monitoring, and it is an integral part of the AMS 6500 mechanical health monitoring system (Machinery Health Monitor). It is typically employed to monitor the displacement and axial position changes of large rotating equipment, helping operators detect any abnormal operation of the equipment promptly.

Core Functions And Features
Three-in-One Multi-functional Monitoring: A6210 supports three independent operation modes, and a single module can meet various key displacement monitoring requirements:
Thrust Position Monitoring: Monitors the axial displacement of the shaft to assess the health of the thrust bearing and prevent the rotor from contacting the casing.
Differential Expansion Monitoring: Monitors the relative displacement difference between the rotor and the casing during the thermal expansion process, used for thermal stress management during the start-up and shutdown of the turbine.
Rod Position Monitoring: For reciprocating compressors, monitors the position change of the piston rod to assess the wear condition of the piston support ring (rider band).
Important Notes
Installation and Configuration Notes:
Sensor Installation: Thrust position monitoring typically requires 1-3 non-contact displacement sensors, installed parallel along the axial direction at the thrust disk; it is recommended to use redundant sensors and voting logic to enhance safety
Supporting Monitoring: For critical thrust bearing applications, it is strongly recommended to simultaneously monitor the thrust bearing temperature as a supplement to thrust position monitoring
Thermal Expansion Measurement Mode: Supports tandem/complementary (tandem/complementary) or cone/ramp (cone/ramp) measurement modes, depending on the specific mechanical structure
Revolving Compressor Applications: Piston rod drop monitoring requires at least one displacement probe to measure the piston rod position; the average rod drop parameter can be calibrated to the actual wear of the support ring or directly display the actual movement of the piston rod
Maintenance and Safety:
A6210 Machinery Health Monitor supports hot swapping, but when replacing, follow anti-static operation procedures
It is recommended to conduct regular self-check function verification to ensure the integrity of the hardware and sensor circuit.s
For critical safety applications of SIL 3 level or higher, consider using the A6250 monitor (based on the triple redundant overspeed system platform) instead of the A6210
Configuration Requirements:
The Emerson AMS 6910 configuration software is required for parameter setting and management.
Alarm setting points support two levels of alarm (Alert) and danger (Danger), and can be configured as normally open/normally closed, with a 0-5 second delay, anda remote blocking function.
