Product Details
The AI895 Analog Input Module can directly interface 2-wire transmitters, and with a particular connection, it can also interface 4-wire transmitters without losing the HART capability. Each channel can power and monitor a two-wire process transmitter and HART communication.
AI895 (order number 3BSE008516R1) is an analog input module developed by ABB for the Advant Controller 400 (AC 400) series control systems, belonging to the I/O components of the early architecture of the Industrial IT 800xA system. This module is primarily used for high-precision acquisition of field analog signals in industrial automation systems, suitable for process control applications with high requirements for signal stability and anti-interference capabilities.
This module provides 8 single-ended analog input channels, supporting standard current signals (e.g., 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA) and voltage signals (e.g., 0–10 V, ±10 V). The specific input type depends on the module hardware version and wiring configuration. The module features electrical isolation between the channels and the system backplane, with an isolation withstand voltage of not less than 500 V AC, effectively improving the system's reliability in complex electromagnetic environments. The typical resolution is 14 bits, with an overall accuracy better than ±0.1% of full scale at room temperature.
The AI895 does not support HART or other digital communication protocols and is used only for pure analog signal acquisition. Its power supply is provided through a dedicated AC 400 I/O rack (such as the TK807A) via the backplane, requiring no external power supply. The module must be used with the matching terminal block TB895 (part number usually 3BSE008517R1). Field wiring is completed through the terminal block, and the module and terminal block are connected via a dedicated flat cable.
This module is compatible with ABB Advant Controller 410/450 controllers. Engineering configuration requires older versions of ABB Composer or Advant Programming Tool software; Control Builder M is not supported. Typical applications include existing control systems in industries such as power plants, paper mills, water treatment, and chemicals, for acquiring standard analog signals output from transmitters such as temperature, pressure, and flow.
