Product Introduction

209-595-067-121 CPUM is the VM600 system unit responsible for mechanical protection and Condition Monitoring. Large rotating machinery - e.g., gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps, or generator sets - has to continuously (live) monitor vital statistics like vibration, speed, and shaft displacement to spot problems before they can become expensive damage. The CPUM module works in combination with the VM600 sensing cards (e.g., MPC4, AMC8) to gather sensor data to one location, process it, and transmit it to the control system.

Product Details

As the "core brain" of the VM600 system, the CPUM 209-595-067-121 not only enables data processing and equipment status monitoring, but also can achieve data sharing through industrial communication protocols with PLC, DCS, or SCADA systems, thereby constructing a complete equipment protection and predictive maintenance system. This module uses the AMD Geode LX800 processor, with a running frequency of approximately 500 MHz, and is equipped with approximately 256 MB DRAM memory, running the QNX real-time operating system.

The CPUM module is designed in a modular way and can be installed in the VM600 system rack.

This module is usually a dual-width card, occupying two rack slots and communicating with the system bus through the backplane. At the same time, the CPU module is equipped with a front panel display interface, which can show system operation information.

209-595-067-121 CPUM:

1. Connectors:

   • NET: 8P8C (RJ45), female

Used for the primary Ethernet connection.

   • RS232:DE-9 (9-pin D-sub), female

Used for the primary serial connection.

2. Status indicators (LEDs):CPUM 200-595-067-114 VIBRO

DIAG: Green LED used to indicate the status of the CPUM card: off, normal operation, on, and the status of the VM600 MPS rack (CPUM) security

OK: Green LED used to indicate the status of the OK system check (sensor OK link check) for the currently selected measurement channel.

A (Alert): Yellow LED used to indicate the status of the alarm monitoring (Alert or Alert−) for the currently selected measurement channel

D (Danger: Red LED used to indicate the status of the alarm monitoring (Danger or Danger−) for the currently selected measurement channel.

Front-panel display:

The CPUM 209-595-067-121 front panel features an LCD that uses display pages to show important information for the cards in a VM600 rack. For the CPUM itself, card run time, rack system time, rack (CPUM) security status, IP address/netmask, and version information are displayed. While for MPC4 and AMC8 cards, measurements, card type, version,n, and run time are displayed. For MPC4 and AMC8 cards, the level of the selected monitored output is displayed on a bar graph and numerically, with the Alert and Danger levels also indicated on the bar graph. Measurement identification (slot and output number) is shown at the top of the display.

209-595-067-121 CPUMVM600 CPUM 209-595-067-121 rack controller and communications interface card pair with support for Modbus RTU/TCP or PROFINET, and a front-panel display.

The CPUx rack controller and communications interface card pairs (CPUM/ IOCN, CPUR/IOCR or CPUR2/IOCR2) are optional cards used to provide additional VM600 system functionality such as configuration management, "hot-swapping" with automatic reconfiguration, front-panel display, CPUx card pair redundancy, fieldbus data processing, front-panel alarm reset (AR) button, MPS rack (CPUx) security, system event and measurement event logging, fieldbus communications (Modbus, PROFIBUS and/or PROFINET) and/or communications redundancy.

When installing the CPUM module, please pay attention to the following points:
Ensure the stability of the power supply for the VM600 rack.
Connect the communication interface according to the system configuration
Use shielded cables to reduce electromagnetic interference
Regularly check the system alarm records
