TRICONEX DO3401 performance features:
High reliability: Using triple redundant (TMR) architecture, three identical channels independently execute applications and vote on all inputs and outputs to ensure system reliability and fault tolerance.
Multiple diagnostic functions: Includes complete and continuous diagnosis for each channel. It can detect and issue multiple fault alarms, such as point faults, switch faults, etc. The fault indicator light can identify channel faults, which is convenient for maintenance personnel to quickly locate and eliminate problems.
Self-limiting output current: Even if the load is short-circuited, the output current will not exceed the rated current, protecting the module and external devices from damage.
Hot-swap function: Supports hot-swap, and modules can be replaced and maintained while the system is running without downtime, reducing system downtime and improving system availability.
Mechanical keying: Each module uses mechanical keying to prevent improper installation in the configured substrate

How it works:
Each TMR digital output module has three independent channels of electronics that independently accept data from the MP associated with each channel. The channels use a patented Quad Voter circuit to vote on the individual output signals applied to the load. This voter circuit passes power based on a parallel-series path if two of the three switches command them to close.
