Overview
The FBM242 P0916TA Discrete Output Interface Module contains 16 discrete output channels, which are sourced externally, rated up to 2 A at 60 V dc. Associated termination assemblies (TAs) provide for discrete outputs to loads of 2 A at 60 V dc, relay outputs (120 V ac/125 V dc, or 240 V ac), or relay outputs with power distribution and fusing. Each output is fully isolated from other channels and ground.
The module interfaces electrical output signals from a control processor to the field devices. It executes a digital I/O application program, with ladder logic support, and provides a Fail-Safe Configuration option for the outputs.

How to check the running status of the module
FBM242 P0916TA is equipped with intuitive LED indicators, which are used to display the module's operating status and the output status of each channel.

To determine whether a FBM242 is correctly installed and functioning properly, the following LED observation steps can be followed:
① Check the power/operation indicator lights
Ensure that the module is properly powered and has entered the operating state. If no LED lights up, the module may be without a power supply or not correctly inserted into the base.
② Check the communication indicator lights (if any)
If the module supports redundant fieldbus communication, the status LED can indicate whether the communication with the controller is normal. If the communication path fails, the LED may flash rapidly or display a failure color.
③ Observe the output channel LEDs
When sending output commands through the controller, the corresponding channel LED should be illuminated.
If the controller sends an output command but the LED does not change, there may be a short circuit, configuration error, or module failure. If a channel LED is expected to be lit but fails to do so, this can usually serve as the first clue for an on-site inspection.
