Overview
PR6426/000-030 is a 32mm diameter, high-range non-contact eddy current sensor produced by German EPRO (now part of Emerson). It is specifically designed for large rotating machinery (≥ 200mm shaft diameter) and is used for static displacement/dynamic vibration monitoring. It is paired with a preamplifier (such as CON021) to form a TSI system, and is widely used in the power, petrochemical, and metallurgical industries.

Working Principle
Electromagnetic Eddy Current Effect
Probe Excitation
The probe is equipped with a high-frequency coil. The preamplifier provides high-frequency alternating current, generating an alternating magnetic field.
Eddy Current Generation
When the magnetic field approaches the surface of the metal shaft, a closed vortex-like current (electromagnetic eddy current) is induced.
Impedance Modulation
The eddy current reversely weakens the original magnetic field, causing the impedance / amplitude of the coil to change with the probe - shaft gap (the smaller the gap, the stronger the eddy current, and the greater the amplitude attenuation).
Signal Conversion
The preamplifier demodulates the impedance changes into a voltage signal proportional to the gap (2V/mm), and outputs it to the monitoring system for display / alarm / protection.
Calibration
It is calibrated with 42CrMo4 steel standard at the factory. On-site, only the initial air gap (approximately 5.5mm) needs to be adjusted to be usable.
