Product Introduction
This SNAT 609 TAI 61073779B includes the I/O-circuits for SNAT 603 CNT. The I/O signals are led to SNAT 603 CNT with a 36-pole flat cable. Field I/O signals and tachometer signals are connected to SNAT 602 TAC and then led to SNAT 609 TAI with a 40-pole flat cable.

SNAT 609 TAI 61073779B Detailed Technical Specifications
Power Supply
Operating Power: Basic protection functions are powered by the circuit breaker's main circuit via an internal current transformer, requiring no external auxiliary power supply.
Auxiliary Power Supply (Aux): An external auxiliary power supply must be connected to enable all advanced functions (full-function display, communication, alarm relays, historical data recording, etc.).
Auxiliary Voltage Range: Covers a wide range of DC and AC voltages, such as 24...250 V AC/DC. Refer to official documentation for specific ranges.
Protection Functions
The SNAT 609 TAI 61073779B offers the most comprehensive protection suite, including all the functions of the SNAT 603, with added advanced protection.
Long-Delay Protection (L): Overload protection.
Short-Delay Protection (S): Selective short-circuit protection.
Instantaneous Protection (I): Fast short-circuit protection.
Ground Fault Protection (G): Achieved via an internal or external current transformer.
Zone Selective Interlocking (ZSI): [Key Upgrade Feature] Allows multiple such circuit breakers in the same distribution network to be connected via communication lines, achieving fully selective tripping and minimizing the scope of power outages caused by faults.
Load Setting (Configurable Rated Current): [Key Upgrade Feature] Allows users to switch between multiple preset rated current values via software or a panel, enabling a single circuit breaker to adapt to different load configurations and providing great flexibility.
Measurement and Monitoring Functions
Real-time Measurement Parameters: Includes all parameters of SNAT 603 with higher accuracy.
Current, Voltage (Three-phase + Neutral).
Power, Energy, Frequency, Power Factor, Harmonic Distortion (THD).
Advanced Diagnostics and Logging:
Waveform Capture: [Key Upgrade Feature] Capable of recording current and voltage waveforms before and after a fault (e.g., during a short circuit), extremely valuable for fault analysis.
Event Logging: Larger capacity, recording more timestamped events.
Alarm Logging: Records all alarm states.
Load Curve Recording: Records historical trends in current and power.
Maximum/Minimum Value Recording: Records peak values for various electrical parameters.
Communication Functions (Core Function of TAI Module)
Communication Interface: Integrates an advanced communication module.
Supported Protocols: Natively supports multiple mainstream industrial Ethernet and fieldbus protocols, one of the main differences from SNAT 603:
Modbus TCP/IP: [Key Upgrade Feature] Communicates directly via Ethernet, seamlessly integrating with modern industrial networks.
Profibus DP:
Modbus RTU:
It may also support other protocols, such as DeviceNet, depending on the hardware version.
Communication Content: Access to all data within the trip unit, including measured values, status, events, alarms, waveforms, and all historical records. Supports remote control (open/close/reset) and remote parameter configuration.
User Interface
Display: Large, fully graphical LCD with backlighting, capable of displaying rich text, numerical, and bar graph information.
**Indicator LEDs:** Multiple LEDs provide quick status indication.
**Operating Buttons:** Front panel buttons are used for navigation and setup.
**Installation and Wiring:**
**Installation:** As a pluggable unit, it plugs directly into a compatible Emax 2 circuit breaker body.
**Wiring:**
**Main Circuit:** No wiring required.
**Auxiliary Power Supply (Aux):** Required.
**Communication Cable:** Connect to the front panel port according to the selected protocol (e.g., Ethernet cable, Profibus shielded cable).
**ZSI Connection:** If zone selective interlocking is required, a dedicated ZSI communication cable must be connected between multiple circuit breakers.
**External Sensors:** Connect external current transformers, etc., for ground fault protection.
**Configuration and Setup:**
**Local Setup:** Performed through the front panel interface; the menu structure is more complex, but the functionality is more powerful.
**Remote Setup (Recommended):** Configuring, monitoring, and data archiving via ABB's "ABB Ability™ EDCS" intelligent distribution control system or other configuration software is the most efficient method.
**Configuration, Monitoring, and Data Archiving:** Configuring, monitoring, and data archiving via communication protocols using ABB's "ABB Ability™ EDCS" intelligent distribution control system or other configuration software is the most efficient method. Mechanical and Environmental Parameters
Protection Rating (Front Panel): IP40
Operating Temperature: -25 °C to +70 °C
Humidity: Complies with relevant IEC standards.
