500PSM03 installation environment requirements

1MRB150038R0001 Power Supply module
Select a well-ventilated location to install the power module to ensure that it can fully dissipate heat. Generally, when the working current of the linear power supply is above 4A, or the working current of the switching power supply is above 7A, forced air cooling should be installed. In addition, other items are not allowed to be placed on the module power housing.
The installation location should avoid moisture, dust, corrosive gases, and strong electromagnetic interference to ensure the normal operation and service life of the power module.
The operating temperature range is - 20℃ to + 70℃. Please ensure that the temperature of the installation environment is within this range to avoid affecting the performance and reliability of the power module.
Installation precautions
500PSM03 1MRB150038R0001 power module is not allowed to be in full load for a long time. The utilization rate of the switching power supply should be controlled within 80, otherwise, it may cause artificial early failure of the module power supply.
For power modules, some manufacturers have fixed resistors between the adjustable terminals (ADJ) when they leave the factory. When using, the user must prepare a potentiometer of corresponding resistance to replace the fixed resistor. But please note that when the adjustable terminals are in an open circuit state, loading is never allowed.
500PSM03 1MRB150038R0001 power modules are generally suitable for loads with resistance as the main factor. If they need to be applied to loads with capacitance or inductance as the main factor, they should be stated in the order contract in advance and ordered by the factory.
For high-voltage power modules, the high-voltage danger zone cannot be touched during use and within 10 minutes after a power failure. Although the ABB 500PSM03 power module does not belong to the high-voltage power module, it is still necessary to pay attention to avoid the risk of electric shock during operation.
The power module cannot be forcibly disassembled, which may cause damage to the module.

FAQ
Q: Is 500PSM03 a high-voltage power supply?
A:500PSM03 actually converts high-voltage alternating current into low-voltage direct current (24VDC) to supply to the control system.
Q: The system voltage and current requirements for 500PSM03
A: Confirm the required 24 VDC voltage, current size, and total power demand for the equipment (such as PLC, I/O subsystem, sensors, etc.). For 500PSM03, the common output is approximately 24 VDC and ~100 W power level. It is recommended that the actual total power of the load does not exceed 80% of the module's rated power.
