The earth fault protection device Type UNS 3020a,Var.1/2 is designed to detect earth faults in the excitation circuits of synchronous machines with rated voltages up to 1000V(Var.1)O or 3000V(Var.2).The unit has two operating stages. The UNS 3020 protection is an independent unit with its own auxiliary supply. It is suitable for all kinds of excitation systems and intended to be installed in an cubicle, preferably the field switch cubicle.
