RF540 and RF541 are subracks for the assembly of auxiliary equipment, like modems and certain connection units for communication links.
RF541, the 19-inch variant, is described below; RF540, for the 24-inch standard, differs in width and number of units only.
A maximum of nine modems, for example, type TC625 or TC630 for Advant Fieldbus 100, can be fixed by two serews included in the modem design (RF540 12 modems). As an alternative, a top hat rail is available for flexible application.
The subrack provides two contact groups, which simplify 24 V distribution from the cabinet supply to the units.
