In order to ensure the safe and efficient operation of units (steam turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, fans, centrifuges, gear machines, etc.), rotating machinery requires the application of various sensors. Without sensors to provide the necessary operating information, it is difficult for users to find that the machine is in a dangerous and uneconomical operating state. Bently Nevada's sensor design and manufacture are consistent with the measurement parameters of the machine, which are determined according to the user's maintenance plan. The selection of sensors is the most important step in machine inspection.

From a mechanical point of view, vibration sensor systems are usually divided into three types according to the type of measurement parameters:

1. Approach: Eddy current sensor systems measure the relative vibration of the shaft;

2. Velocity and acceleration sensors measure the absolute vibration of the bearing seat or housing;

3. Composite sensors measure the absolute vibration of the rotor relative to the ground.

It is widely used in power plants, refineries, chemical plants, steel mills, machinery plants, pump plants, fan plants, universities, aerospace, and other departments for online detection and safety monitoring of axial displacement, shaft (radial) vibration, and shaft speed of rotating machinery. It can also be used for rotor dynamics research, part size detection, and other aspects.
