HONEYWELL 10106/2/1 FSC Digital Input Module,the module provides RS-232 communication for programming, data acquisition and remote control, and supports multiple protocols, including DH+, Modbus and ASCII, to facilitate connection and data interaction with other devices.

The process signal cables can enter the FSC Safety Manager cabinetthrough the top or bottom of the cabinet. The FSC-S cabinet is preparedfor field termination assembly to interface boards (FTA-E) or terminals(FTA-T).These interface boards or terminals may be located in theFSC-SM cabinet or in cross-wiring cabinets next to the FSC-SM.

The FSC-SM cabinet is also prepared for top or bottom entry as per userspecification. For bottom entry, sliding floor plates are provided which canbe adjusted to provide entry slots. For top entry, one sliding plate isprovided which can be adjusted to provide entry slots. For top or bottomentry, the cables should be clamped firmly to the cabinet. The clampingdevices should be able to withstand a 45 kg (100 lb) pull. This preventsdamage inside the cabinet when pulling on cables outside the cabinet.

Conduit or cable trays should be used to route the network trunk linewithin the plant for short distances or for several miles. The same conduitshould not carry both data and power wiring because of problems createdby electromagnetic interference (EMl). The choice of materials andconfiguration for the cable conduit can determine the degree of protectionfrom this interference.
