GE IS215VPROH1BD Emergency Turbine Protection Board

IS215VPROH1B supports speed difference detection and implements speed control and overspeed protection through six passive magnetic speed sensors, of which the last three sensors are connected to the three VPRO boards (R8, S8 and T8) in the protection module, and cooperate with the controller to monitor and control the turbine speed.

IS215VPROH1B functions:
1.Backup synchronization check protection: The backup synchronization check protection function is integrated. The generator and bus voltages are monitored through two single-phase voltage transformers (PTs). The synchronization algorithm is based on phase-locked loop technology to ensure that the phase error between the generator and bus voltage is less than +/-1 degree at nominal voltage and 50/60Hz. The measurement frequency is within 0.05% of the input frequency, supporting a frequency range of 45 to 66Hz.
2.Multiple input support: Thermocouple and analog inputs can be accepted, including three analog current inputs and nine thermocouple input channels, which are mainly used for gas turbine exhaust overtemperature protection, etc., and can monitor various operating parameters of the turbine in real time.
3.Diagnostic and alarm functions: There are three LED indicators on the top of the front panel to indicate the status. The normal "running" state is flashing green, and the "failure" state is always red. The third LED "STATUS" is usually off, and if the board has a diagnostic alarm, it will display a steady orange. Additionally, diagnostic checks can be performed and fault signals can be generated by feedback on the trip relay driver and contacts, feedback on the economizer relay driver and contacts, and monitoring of high and low limits on all analog inputs.

Dual circuit board design: It is composed of two stacked circuit boards. The top board is the IS200VPRW board, which is fixed to the bottom circuit board by four screw connectors. The bottom circuit board has two backplanes, on which capacitors, resistors, multiple integrated circuits and brackets for fixing the top board are installed.
Abundant connectors: It has many connectors, including locking connectors such as J3, J4, J5 and J6 for connecting terminal boards, J7 connector for connecting 125V DC power supply, and Ethernet connector for IONet communication.
Other components: The circuit board also integrates transformers, multiple transistors, resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors and other components, and a heat sink is provided on the right front side for heat dissipation to ensure the normal operation of the module.
