Product Details
As a native module of the Ovation system, 5X00106G01 can be seamlessly integrated with the Ovation controller, engineering workstation, and other I/O modules without the need for additional drivers or protocol converters. It can be used in a traditional WDPF II system or connected to modern DCS or SCADA systems via OPC or a gateway to achieve data sharing and remote monitoring.
5X00106G01 supports current or voltage switching acquisition, and the acquisition mode can be easily switched through the internal jumper; it supports multiple acquisition ranges, including voltage acquisition ranges of 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-30V, etc., and current acquisition ranges of 0-20mA, 4-20mA, etc., which can meet different sensors and measurement requirements.
Output function: It has 2 digital outputs to RS485, and the processed data can be transmitted to other devices for further control or analysis.
Power adaptability:5X00106G01 supports a wide temperature range of -40℃~85℃ and a wide voltage supply of DC5V~35V, which can adapt to different working environments, and supports rail installation, which is convenient for installation and layout in the control cabinet.

Working principle
In the Emerson Ovation system, the main working process of 5X00106G01 is as follows:
1 . Signal acquisition
The on-site sensors (pressure, temperature, flow rate, liquid level, etc.) output standard 4–20 mA analog signals or HART digital叠加 signals. These signals are connected through on-site wiring to the corresponding channels of 5X00106G01, and the module conducts real-time data collection of these analog parameters.
2. Isolation and Transformation
Electrical isolation and noise reduction designs were implemented within each input channel, and analog signals were converted into digital format, which was then sent to the processor of Ovation DCS. The module supports the separation of HART digital data, enabling two-way communication between the Ovation system and the sensors to achieve more complex equipment diagnosis and parameter reading.
3. Data transmission and control logic processing
The collected data is transmitted via the Ovation control network to the central control processor or engineering workstation. The controller executes PID control, logical judgment,nt and advanced control strategies based on the incoming data. At the same time, it can display real-time process variables and record trend changes on the control interface.
4. Feedback and Diagnosis
The Ovation control system can utilize HART feedback data to perform alarm management, trend analysis, and equipment maintenance prediction. If an abnormality occurs in a certain channel, the system can also record logs and issue alerts to enable the operation and maintenance personnel to intervene as soon as possible.
Installation and Maintenance Guide
1.Installation steps
Power-off operation: Before performing any hardware installation, make sure that the power supply of the control system has been disconnected.
Inserting the rack: Insert the 5X00106G01 module along the Ovation I/O rack backplate guide rail into the designated slot.
Fixed screws: Ensure that the screws at the front end of the module are securely tightened to prevent loosening due to vibration.
Connection terminal: Use shielded cables to connect the on-site sensors and terminal blocks. The shield layer is grounded to reduce the impact of noise.
Configuration System: Set the input channel type (dry contact / wet contact), HART parameters, and alarm logic in the Ovation engineering workstation.
2. Debugging and Verification
After powering on, check whether the module status indicator light is functioning properly (a green light indicates normal communication).
Use the Ovation software to check whether real-time simulation data can be collected.
Configure the devices that require HART communication and test the stability of the communication.
