The 3500 System provides continuous on-line monitoring for machinery protection applications and meets the requirements of the American Petroleum Institute API 670 standard. The system has a modular rack design and includes components such as the 3500/05 instrument rack (required), one or two 3500/15 power supplies (required), 3500/22M transient data interface (TDI) module (required), and one or more 3500/XX monitoring modules (required).
System Components
The 3500 rack is available in 19-inch EIA rail mount, panel cutout mount, and large panel mount versions. The rack provides slots for two power supplies and one TDI module, and the remaining 14 slots can accommodate any combination of monitoring, display, relay, Keyphasor module, and communications gateway modules.
Features
The 3500 system is suitable for continuous, permanent monitoring of rotating and reciprocating machinery. It is designed for automatic shutdown machinery protection applications that require extremely high reliability and availability.
Communications
The 3500 system has independent concurrent digital communications capability over an Ethernet connection using a proprietary protocol for communication between the 3500 Configuration Software and the System 1 Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics Software.
Display Options
Display options can range from a local unit mounted directly to the front panel of the rack, to a remote display, to a fully blind monitoring system with HMI (Human Machine Interface) connectivity for configuration and information access as required.
