Product Details
The ABB SNAT 607 MCI 61027769F is a Modular Controller Interface module. It serves as the critical interface and communication hub between the control system's main controller and the field input/output modules. It doesn't directly handle field signals but manages and coordinates all I/O modules on its rack (or branch).
Connect the Motor Control board SNAT 603 CNT with a 40-pole
ribbon cable, 20-pole ribbon cable and a 10-pole ribbon cable.
Connections to Chopper SAFT 125 CHC or SNAT 617 CHC and
Auxiliary Voltage Source SAFT 11_ POW with a 40-pole ribbon
cable. Connections to Pulse Amplifiers SNAT 63_ PAC with a 40-pole
ribbon cable.
Communication Bridge:
It exchanges data upwards with higher-level controllers (such as the ABB Advant Master or AC 800M series) via a high-speed MBI bus.
It manages a group (typically up to 8) of I/O modules (such as digital inputs (DI), analogue outputs (AO), etc.) downwards via a local PDB bus.
Data Centralisation and Distribution:
It collects field data (such as temperature, pressure, and switch status) from all its subordinate I/O modules, packages it, and sends it to the main controller.
Receives output commands from the main controller (such as valve opening and motor start) and distributes them to the corresponding output modules.
Intelligent Processing and Diagnostics:
This module typically possesses some processing capabilities, capable of performing simple logic operations and signal preprocessing.
Provides diagnostic functions for the local I/O subsystem and the module itself (such as communication status and module faults), and reports diagnostic information.
Power Supply and Synchronisation:
Provides the necessary power or synchronisation signals to the local I/O modules.
Typical Technical Characteristics (Based on Advant MOD 30x Series MCI Modules)
System Platform: ABB Advant OCS (Open Control System) or MOD 30x Series.
Communication Interface:
Uplink: MBI bus interface, used to connect to the controller or higher-level networks.
Downlink: PDB bus, used to connect local I/O modules (such as S600 I/O modules).
Processing Capabilities: Typically includes a built-in microprocessor capable of handling logic and communication protocols.
Status Indicators: The module has multiple LED indicators on the front to display operating, fault, and communication status.
Installation Method: Installed in a standard Advant MOD rack (such as ER01 or ER02 chassis).
Application Scenarios: This module is a core component of ABB's classic DCS (Distributed Control System) Advant Station or similar system field control stations. It is typically used in:
Large process industries, such as continuous process control in chemical plants, oil refineries, power plants, and paper mills.
As a spare part for expanding or retrofitting existing Advant systems.
Functions:
- Voltage scaling for the converter type coding.
- Current scaling for the converter type coding and for the motor
control board.
- Inverter-type coding for voltage and current measurement
information for the motor control board.
Connected to and mounted on the Main Circuit Interface
SNAT 7261 INT or SNAT 607 MCI.
Type designation:
- Each converter size has its own matching board type, where
xyz is the output power from the converter type cod,e and v i voltage class (I.e. 400 V is 3 and 500 V is 5).
For GTO power stage inverters.
Functions:
- The power is supplied to the board from the intermediate DC
circuit through the main circuit interface board.
- The power supply board supplies a stabilised and filtered
±14 V, +5 V to the main circuit interface board and 42 V,
80 kHz for the pulse amplifiers.
- The board is at the main circuit potential.
Connection to the Main Circuit Interface SNAT 607 MCI
For IGBT-power stage inverters to protect the IGBTs.
